During the Open Day at the end of August, more than 10,000 visitors came to the National Council of the Slovak Republic and nearby Bratislava Castle. In this connection, Speaker of the National Council Richard Raši highlighted the exceptional importance of direct personal contact between citizens and their elected representatives, which is the main idea behind the entire event.
The public was given access to a tour route through the parliament building, leading through Hurban Hall directly into the chamber and to the southern ceremonial staircase with monumental paintings by Albín Brunovský. At Bratislava Castle, visitors could enter normally inaccessible state rooms used for receiving foreign dignitaries, including the Hall of Mirrors, the Federation Hall and the Porcelain Salon. The original Constitution of the Slovak Republic, displayed together with the state insignia in the garden pavilion of the Baroque Garden, also attracted considerable interest, as did the exhibitions of the SNM Historical Museum and the archaeological Celtic Trail featuring remains of Celtic–Roman structures beneath the castle courtyard and in the Winter Riding Hall. A key part of the day was the opportunity for direct and open dialogue with elected representatives. On the western terrace of the Castle, all parliamentary political groups presented their work, with citizens engaging in lively discussions with both coalition and opposition MPs. The extensive programme also included several dynamic demonstrations and themed stands.

Thousands of visitors attended the Open Day.

The programme also included themed stands, such as Slovakia Travel.
