Between September 22 and 24, Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela visited Qatar to attend the historic first session of the Czech-Qatari Joint Economic Commission with his Qatari counterpart, Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani. Vladimír Cnota, chairman of the Czech-Qatari Committee at the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, also participated in the meeting of the joint commission and other discussions. He was part of the delegation, which included several Czech entrepreneurs who accompanied Minister Síkela.
The business forum, organized by the Qatari Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SPČR), saw the participation of 20 Czech entrepreneurs from sectors such as energy, IT and cybersecurity, glassmaking, and tourism. The forum was officially opened by Minister Síkela and the first vice chairman of the Qatari Chamber, Muhammad bin Twar Al Kuwari. Czech companies had the opportunity to present their products and services and subsequently established new contacts with Qatari entrepreneurs. The Czech businesspeople thus explored opportunities to enter the promising Qatari market. In addition to official meetings and the program in Doha, the Czech entrepreneurs held private meetings that had been pre-arranged for the companies traveling to Qatar as part of the Czech minister's delegation. These meetings were organized, among others, by the Czech-Qatari Committee. The business delegation also visited the headquarters of the local investment agency, Invest Qatar, as well as the industrial area of Qatar Free Zones and Hamad Port.

Thanks to the friendly relations and connections of Vladimír Cnota in Qatar, the Czech-Qatari Committee of the Chamber of Commerce has long been assisting Czech entrepreneurs with doing business in the Gulf state. The Czech-Qatari Committee even has its office in downtown Doha, located in the Invest Qatar headquarters. The committee thus has direct representation in Qatar and provides support and assistance to Czech entrepreneurs and investors on-site. The Czech-Qatari Committee of the Chamber of Commerce is currently preparing for another major event. At the end of October, it will accompany Czech companies to Doha for the international Milipol fair, offering participants a great opportunity to develop cooperation in the security industry.
