In mid-May, a meeting took place in Prague between Minister of Finance Zbyněk Stanjura and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar H.E. Nasser Ibrahim M. H. Allenqawi. The main agenda item was the negotiations regarding an agreement on the mutual promotion and protection of investments.

Trade between the Czech Republic and Qatar continues to grow. From 2013 to 2023, it doubled in volume, reaching 140 million dollars last year. Currently, Qatar is the fourth most important market for Czech exports in the Middle East. However, compared to other countries in the region (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia), the potential for developing Czech-Qatari relations remains largely untapped. The main Czech export items include electrical control systems and power distribution equipment, IT processor units, passenger cars, electronic circuits, mineral oils, and glass lamps. The main import items are primarily polyethylene, textile goods, and previously also large amounts of aluminum and plastics.
