“The seventeenth season took place in a truly unique setting, right on the Danube river, lending the event a truly unforgettable atmosphere. The city and castle glimmered in the background, livening up the fashion shows,” said Agentura Promotion director and organizer of the Bratislava Fashion Days by Mercedes-Benz event, Mária Reháková.

I am delighted that, after the extended pandemic period, the fashion world is still alive and designers have plenty of ideas, which they have shown off to our audience,” she went on to add.

This year’s iteration of the event was also in the spirit of aid and solidarity – together with Slovak designers Alexandra Vidic, Renáta Kliská, and Monika Laceková, support was provided to two Ukrainian designers who arrived in Slovakia with literally a single suitcase in hand. They got their collections together only in Bratislava with ample help from our project and designer team. Natalia Galagan displayed her designs on day one, and Olena Minkova on day two, of our fashion marathon. As is customary, the spring edition was attended by plenty of guests from Czechia – on day one, the Poner siblings showed off their PONER brand, and day two shone a light on the hand-sewn shoes for both men and women from the up-and-coming VASKY brand.

The spring edition also hosted the tenth season of the New Faces of the Fashion Scene competition meant for young fashion designers. This year’s theme is “The world without smoke”. The finals will take place in September 2022 at the fall edition of the Bratislava Fashion Days by Mercedes-Benz. Young designers can sign up until June 19, 2022. All necessary information can be found at www.bmd.sk.
