The atmosphere of the 20th edition of Bratislava Fashion Days was truly exceptional – as if fashion had briefly merged with the soul of history. The courtyard of Bratislava Castle radiated elegance, with guests welcomed by the Honor Guard of the President of the Slovak Republic. Both May evenings were filled with a generous dose of Slovak and international fashion.

Renowned names of the Slovak fashion scene took to the runway, including Michaela Ľuptáková, Zuzana Haková, LA RENA, Lombardi Fashion House, Jana Pištejová, and others – once again proving that their work can hold its own even against top foreign brands. And it was precisely the presence of international guests that gave this anniversary edition its global shine – Czech-based Cuban designer Osmany Laffita, Rozalia Bot from Romania, and UK’s Belinda Chorley.

Something that transcends borders
Fashion creations flowed to the rhythm of music, each collection with its own story, mood, and festive flair. One of the most touching moments of the evening was the showcase by students of the Private Secondary School Biela Voda from Kežmarok. These young women had already won acclaim in the past two years of the “New Faces of the Fashion Scene” project – a platform organized under Bratislava Fashion Days to spotlight future design stars. The 20th edition of Bratislava Fashion Days proved that when passion, professionalism, and vision come together, something is created that transcends borders. It was an evening that will be remembered not only by its guests but also recorded in the history of Bratislava Castle as an event that shapes Slovak fashion and pushes it forward. As the gates of the castle closed at the end of the evening, they left behind traces of beauty, inspiration, and the sense that we had witnessed something monumental – something that only happens once every twenty years but will live on in the hearts of fashion lovers much longer.

Part of national culture
Project founder Mária Reháková also shared her reflections: “Twenty years – that’s truly an amazing number. I’m immensely happy that we can celebrate this exceptional milestone right here at Bratislava Castle. For me, the castle is a symbol of national identity, cultural heritage, and important decisions. It represents both our history and our present, and that’s why I’m proud that we are writing the next chapter of Bratislava Fashion Days here today. Bratislava Fashion Days inspire, motivate, support – and above all, give Slovakia the status of a country that belongs to the fashion elite of our continent. Today, the project is an inseparable part of our national culture. It reflects our traditional sense of beauty, shapes our taste, and tells the story of our creativity. Bratislava Fashion Days simply have style – and thanks to them, Slovakia is seen as a place where world-class fashion is born. It’s not just a runway show of clothing aesthetics. It has a deeper dimension. Through the “New Faces of the Fashion Scene” project, many young Slovak talents have had the chance to step onto the runway and show the world the talent that lies within them. This project has given aspiring designers a unique opportunity to earn recognition both at home and abroad.”
