Jana Doleželová has been working for four years at the headquarters of the Dr. Max pharmacy chain and has collaborated with Jet Investment for ten years. In addition to being a former Miss Czech Republic, she is also the mother of a seven-year-old daughter, Veronika, and a member of the Říčany Municipal Assembly.
Is your education sufficient, or do you still need to keep educating yourself when it comes to pharmacy work and providing advice?
The pharmaceutical industry is constantly evolving, so pharmacists are required to engage in lifelong learning. The Czech Chamber of Pharmacists supports and monitors its members‘ education. For instance, the most recent course I attended was a two-day conference on insomnia, anxiety, depression, and burnout. The topics covered causes, treatments, psychoactive drug interactions, dosing, and more.
What else do you do apart from being a pharmacist?
In show business, I mainly host social events, balls, conferences, congresses, and sports events. However, I‘m originally a pharmacist by profession, so I‘m still active in that field. I write popular science articles for the public, run a skincare advice column in a magazine, and provide consulting in pharmacies and at public events focused on healthy living.
What does the consulting work involve?
For example, I traveled across the country educating pharmacy clients about proper dental hygiene. Before this tour, I attended a professional seminar on the topic. A similar tour took place in pharmacies across 15 cities with the InBody device, where I focused on obesity prevention and metabolic syndrome. I completed a two-day conference on obesity organized by the Czech Chamber of Pharmacists ahead of this. I‘ve also provided skincare consultations in pharmacies throughout various cities.
How does the InBody device measurement work exactly?
It‘s a specialized device that measures physical parameters such as the amount and distribution of fat, muscle, and water, as well as some minerals. It also determines the base metabolic rate and appropriate caloric intake. Based these measurements, we recommend adjustments to diet or physical activity.
Regarding your skincare consultations - how should one take care of their skin in winter to avoid problems?
Skin tends to dry out in the winter due to dry indoor air from heating and exposure to frost and cold winds. Nourishing, rich lotions are particularly suitable. Capillaries in the skin also tend to break more often due to frequent transitions between warm and cold environments. Those prone to this can include buckwheat in their diet, take supplements with rutin, or use lotions indicated for this issue. Buckwheat contains rutin, which strengthens blood vessel walls. Skincare products should also include hydrating agents like hyaluronic acid.
As a former Miss Czech Republic, what‘s your view on the current trend where even young girls opt for artificial lashes, nails, hair extensions, lip fillers, breast enlargements, and liposuction? Was this common during your time in the Miss competition?
Back then, natural beauty was the trend, and cosmetic procedures were viewed negatively by the Miss competition judges. Every surgery is an intervention in the body and carries certain risks. It‘s unfortunate that today‘s trends pressure even young, naturally beautiful girls into these procedures. It‘s more understandable when a procedure is undertaken by a woman with a significant aesthetic handicap or a mature woman as part of anti-aging. For young, naturally beautiful girls, I consider it an unnecessary fashion whim.
You‘re the mother of a seven-year-old daughter, Veronika. What does motherhood mean to you?
I postponed becoming a mother for a long time due to my career. For nine years, I ran a pharmacy business and, at one point, even managed three pharmacies. I traveled the world for photo shoots. When we decided to start a family, I was already 36. I felt it was the right time to step back from modeling and make room for younger talents. I saw it as a gift that our daughter was born just nine months after we made the decision because I know many couples who face challenges with on infertility. I‘m grateful to be able to fully enjoy motherhood now. Of course, the first few months were demanding, but that‘s to be expected.
You and your daughter have been involved in a theater show for children, Rarášci. Has it brought you closer together?
Rarášci is a musical entertainment show filled with songs, storytelling, movement, and fun for small children and tired parents. We don‘t act in the show, but Veronika and I recorded two songs together – Zvířátka (Animals) and Muzikanti (Musicians). Both are featured in a new children‘s songbook Rarášci which we really like. It‘s beautifully illustrated, and the texts and melodies are very well done, appealing to many children. It was our first experience recording in a studio, and I must say these shared activities truly strengthen our bond.
Since 2018, you‘ve been an assemblywoman for Říčany, representing the Klidné město (Quiet Town) movement. What does your role involve?
I am a part-time assembly member, meaning I don‘t work at the town hall daily. However, I‘m a member of the school board. I often and gladly officiate weddings and welcome new citizens, and I occasionally host town events. I was also a member of the supervisory board of Říčany Hospital for five years.
What has Klidné město achieved in Říčany during your tenure?
One of the most significant projects is the construction of a new major primary school, which is currently underway and will be the largest wooden building in the Czech Republic. We also opened new kindergartens – Kuřátko and the architecturally unique Větrník. New playgrounds have been built, and there are city bus lines that are free for residents. A parking system and senior taxi service have also been introduced. Říčany is a sought-after place for families with children, so many projects and investments cater to this. The area is rich in ponds and forests, which has led to the development of cycling trails, such as the well-known “Bike to Prague” route that goes from Prague through Říčany to Mnichovice.
OUTDOORS
Jana loves outdoor activities, especially in nature, be it cycling, running, ski mountaineering, or hiking. „It‘s perfect relaxation, clearing my mind while stretching my body,“ she says. „For instance, we cycled along the Elbe from Dresden to Prague, along the Morava River from Ramzová to Hodonín, around Lake Neusiedl, and along the Svratka and Dyje rivers from Brno to Lednice. On ski mountaineering trips, we cover 20 km circuits, and in the summer, we hike the mountains – such as climbing Chopok. Our most recent hike this autumn was with my daughter, trekking from Pec pod Sněžkou to the summit of Sněžka. It was an amazing experience, and I was pleasantly surprised by my seven-year-old‘s enthusiasm for the hike.“

She earned her doctorate in pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Charles University in Prague.
In 2004, she won the titles Miss Czech Republic and Miss TV Viewers and placed in the TOP 15 of Miss World in China. In 2006, she won the title Miss Tourism International in Kuala Lumpur.
She has has been a member of the Říčany Municipal Assembly for the Klidné město movement since 2018. From 2019 to 2025, she served on the supervisory board of Říčany Hospital.
For nine years, she managed and owned pharmacies in Prague 1. She currently works at the Dr. Max pharmacy chain headquarters and collaborates with Jet Investment.
She is a sought-after host of social and sports events, conferences, and congresses.
She plays the piano, enjoys traveling, and is an avid sports enthusiast - cycling, ski mountaineering, running, golf, swimming, and skiing.
