“Let us together define a vision that extends beyond electoral cycles, rises above everyday concerns, and is freed from petty power struggles. A vision on which we can all agree, despite our differing values,” said President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini in his address during the ceremonial presentation of state honors to twenty-two distinguished figures from cultural, scientific, sporting, economic, and public life.

The president emphasized that Slovakia’s true wealth lies in its people - their talent, diligence, and creativity. “They create values that transcend Slovakia’s borders and outlast electoral terms and passing trends,” he noted, calling for the strengthening of healthy self-confidence and patriotism. One of the most significant moments of the ceremony was the awarding of the Order of Pribina, Second Class, to Mária Reháková, chief executive officer of the publishing house STAR production. She received this high state honor for her outstanding contribution to the cultural development of the Slovak Republic. “It is a great honor and privilege for me. It is recognition of our long-standing work in the cultural and media sphere. Yet no work would have meaning without the response of those it is intended for. That is why I am immensely happy to be in almost daily contact with those who collaborate with us on the preparation of Slovak Folk Costume Day, as well as on other events that have become nationwide phenomena. Among them is also the oldest Slovak magazine, Slovenka, which remains a faithful reflection of its time and a companion to families,” said Mária Reháková.
