A significant event that represents a milestone in the dynamic development of Czech-Qatari relations in recent years took place in Doha the first week of December. The Czech-Qatari Committee of the Czech Chamber of Commerce officially received the keys to its new office in Qatar located on the premises of the Qatari state investment agency Invest Qatar in the Tornado Tower building in downtown Doha.
The Czech-Qatari Committee's permanent representation opens up new opportunities for future growth in trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The Committee, headed by Czech businessman Vladimír Cnota, has been successfully facilitating business as well as cultural relations between the State of Qatar and the Czech Republic for a long time. The fact that the Qatari side has provided the offices for the Czech CoC's Committee free of charge is a testament to the appreciation of the efforts of Vladimír Cnota and his associates from the Chamber. The Committee is able to build on its long-term efforts in improving the relations between both countries as well as intimate knowledge of the environment and Vladimír Cnota's personal connections, which are invaluable in the environment of this Persian Gulf country.
Chairman of the Czech-Qatari Committee Vladimír Cnota was accompanied on his visit to Qatar by a trade delegation of Czech businessmen and investors who have expressed serious interest in taking part in activities in Qatar and the wider region of GCC states. Czech investors want to invest sums in the range of tens of millions of euros in this rich emirate because it fosters an appealing and stable investing environment. Among the attendees of the ceremony was the head of the Qatari investment agency, Sheikh Ali Al Waleed Al-Thani, who personally handed Mr. Cnota the keys to the new office. The Czech CoC has joined the ranks of bodies from Germany, the USA, New Zealand, and many other countries that are already based at this prestigious address in downtown Doha. In parallel to this significant occasion, several online stores offering Czech goods and products, which have garnered substantial interest in Qatar, were officially launched, so we can look forward to more positive news from Qatar in the coming months.
