Two days full of Slovak and international fashion and the finale of a competition for emerging designers - this was the autumn edition of the biggest fashion event in Slovakia, BRATISLAVA FASHION DAYS | LEXUS. Hundreds of guests came to enjoy the designers' latest collections, and there was plenty to see.
The director of Bratislava Fashion Days | Lexus, Mária Reháková, couldn't hide her enthusiasm. “I am extremely happy that this 19th edition of Bratislava Fashion Days | Lexus was once again a success, showcasing our domestic fashion scene, which is in no way lagging behind the global one. This event is not just a display of what our designers have created, but it also gives a chance to young, emerging fashion creators, opening the doors to the world of haute couture. Many of those who started on the BFD runway have successfully established themselves in the industry,” she said. For more than a decade, the autumn edition has included a competition for emerging designers - New Faces of the Fashion Scene. “I am convinced that this year’s winner, Klára Bobeková, whose collection with the theme On the Beautiful Blue Danube was truly fabulous, will have a story similar to that of other designers. Although the theme naturally brings to mind historical associations, her designs were a delightful surprise with their modern approach and the message they conveyed. In her interpretation, the Danube symbolizes a force that unites nations and acts as a cohesive element for Slovakia,” added Mária Reháková. Lexus was the event’s title sponsor for the second year in a row. “There are several reasons why we proudly became their partner. The most significant for me is PASSION. The passion we see in fashion designers and their collections is the same passion we experience at Lexus, striving to bring the highest quality models to our customers,” revealed Lexus product manager Andrea Vingáliková. The highlight of both days was a spectacular fashion show by Jana Pištejová, a Czech-Slovak fashion icon celebrating 30 years in the industry this year. The runway featured not only her iconic designs from the past but also her latest creations.
