At the beginning of September, Prague’s Chuchle Arena hosted the European-Middle Eastern final of the Global Champions Arabians Tour (GCAT), the world’s richest and most prestigious series for Arabian thoroughbreds.
More than a hundred horses competed for record prize money of 5.475 million EUR (around 133 million CZK). Each year, the series brings together selected destinations across the globe. This year it features a total of 14 stops. After Prague’s Chuchle, the tour moved on to Las Vegas, where the American final took place from September 26 to 28. In addition to breeders and owners, the finals regularly attract numerous representatives from politics, business, embassies, and royal families from GCC states and other Arab countries – particularly from Qatar. Notably, Qatar Airways partnered with The Business Soirée magazine to support the Prague final.
