Czech minister of finance Alena Schillerová (ANO) met in Bratislava with her Slovak counterpart, Ladislav Kamenický (SMER-SD). One of the outcomes of the talks is expected to be a memorandum currently being prepared in connection with the upcoming joint meeting of the two governments, scheduled for March 31.

According to Kamenický, the main topics of the meeting included support for rental housing, cash registers, electronic sales reporting, and VAT-related issues. “There are a number of measures that have already been implemented in Slovakia and that we would like to introduce in the Czech Republic as well,” the Czech minister of finance noted. The discussion also touched on bilateral relations between the two countries. “I want relations with the Czech Republic to deepen,” the Slovak minister said. Schillerová added that cooperation between the two states has weakened in recent years and needs to be revitalized. She also referred to coordination within the Visegrad Group and joint approaches at the European level. At the close of the meeting, she invited her Slovak counterpart to Prague in return.
