In December, the State of Qatar appointed a new Ambassador to the Czech Republic. It is JE Mohammed Bin Jaham AI-Kuwari, who is also an extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin.
AI-Kuwari was born on 20th May 1958, studied political science at the University of Portland and International Relations at the University of Madrid. Prior to joining the Berlin Embassy, he was Qatar's ambassador to Spain for two years. From 2013 to 2017, he served as an ambassador to the United States of America.
He also worked in foreign policy in previous years, having worked as ambassador to Monaco, Portugal, at the embassy in Paris, and having been accredited to Switzerland and the Holy See. He started his career in 1981 as Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
He is has been awarded many times, with awards such as the Chevalier Order of the Legion of Honour, the Portuguese Grand Cross of the Order of Merit and the Papal Knight's Order of Sts. Gregory the Great.
