Dva měsíce poté, co ministr zahraničí Tomáš Petříček navštívil pracovně Bahrajn, přišel další krok k prohloubení vztahů mezi Českem a tímto královstvím. Na půdě sněmovny byla založena meziparlamentní poslanecká skupina ČR−Bahrajn.
Two months after Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček visited Bahrain, another step was to deepen the relations between Czechia and this kingdom. A Czechia − Bahrain Inter-Parliamentary Group has been established in the Chamber of Deputies.
Its chairman is Petr Bendl (ODS), and the members are: Pavel Bělobrádek (KDU-ČSL), Milan Feranec (ANO), Alena Gajdůšková CSSD), Adam Kalous (YES), Tomáš Kohoutek (YES), Taťána Malá (ANO) and Vít Rakušan (STAN). The Ambassador to Germany Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, who also represents Czechia, has been informed of the formation of the group. At the same time Petr Bendl invited him to a gala dinner in Prague, where both parties discussed the possibilities of mutual cooperation.
Incidentally, diplomatic relations between Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Bahrain were established in the form of a joint letter to the UN Secretary-General in May 1993 and subsequent exchange of notes in June 1993, which enshrined the recognition of the Czech Republic and the establishment of diplomatic relations since 1st January 1993.
And what could be the cooperation? That's a question for Petr Bendl.
In your opinion, what is the greatest potential for cooperation between the Czechia and Bahrain?
I believe that this is particularly the area of water management. Czechia is known for its experts in many countries of the world. And we can certainly also look for cooperation in the field of food trade.
Are there any joint Czech and Bahrain events planned this year?
I am counting on meeting with the Ambassador at the latest by the middle of this year. We are going to have then an open a discussion about the possibilities of business cooperation between our countries.
